Burma Paduak / Rosewood (Pterocarpus Macrocarpus) Indigenous to the lowland forests of northern Indochina, rosewood is a hard, heavy, dense and strong wood. The heartwood is yellowish-red to brick-red, with occasional darker lines. Despite its difficult working properties in other operations, the timber turns excellently. The wood can be brought to a bright natural polish. Rosewood is highly valued for furniture and cabinetmaking.
